Jennifer Beese
Partner and Chief Operating Officer
Jennifer serves as Chief Operating Officer and partner of Maslow’s Campus Communities. She oversees the operations of the company and its communities.
As the former president and Chief Operating Officer of American Campus Communities, Jennifer was responsible for guiding the company’s success, preserving and advancing its culture, and mentoring and developing the ACC team. Jennifer guided all company operations with more than 2,900 employees under her supervision. Her direct leadership included marketing and leasing, customer service, human resources, internal training, corporate administration and company culture. Jennifer also fostered and inspired the American Campus Communities employee development program, as well as the industry’s unmatched residence life program.
Under her leadership, ACC consistently achieved industry-leading occupancy and 15 straight years of same-store growth in the areas of revenue, rental rate, rental revenue, and net operating income, excluding pandemic impacted semesters. Jennifer played a critical role in the development of ACC’s proprietary systems, particularly the industry leading Leasing Administration and Marketing System, LAMS. As she worked side-by-side with CEO Bill Bayless, Jennifer developed the workflow and logistics for LAMS – a proprietary platform that was a key driving force in the success of the $13 billion enterprise.
In her more than 20 years at ACC, Jennifer began as a regional manager and later held a variety of positions in property management, on-campus business development and the training department. Her roots in student housing extend back to her college days, during which she worked onsite in property management.
Initially upon graduation from Texas A&M University, she joined JPI and worked onsite in its first purpose-built student housing community. She then moved on to the training department at the corporate offices, working to develop onsite employees in both multifamily and student housing. Her expertise in both student and multifamily housing are invaluable assets to any property development and operating team.
Jennifer resides in Austin with her husband Brian, son Grayson, and two step-daughters.
